As a neophyte in the field of genetic genealogy, I figured their test was probably a good place for me to start. A (female) cousin used 23andMe for mtDNA testing. Since we share the same female lineage, she allowed me access to the results (H10). I didn’t get much out of it. I’m hoping I’ll learn more from Ancestry.

Honestly, it’s all a bit overwhelming when one starts to consider testing. Ancestry.com seems inclined to making it easier for folks like me. I’m sure there are other excellent programs out there, like Family Tree, but having the DNA test results also tied to my tree–well, it’s helpful.
